As the weather gets colder we tend to find more comfort in eating warm foods. I love to have roasted vegetables. They are so easy to make and roasted veggies go well with everything; beef, lamb, chicken, turkey, rice, quinoa, lentils or salad. Choose your favourites, wash them well, cut off ends if needed, remove any seeds and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Today, I cooked […]

With the cooler temperatures and colour changes it is evident that autumn is upon us. It’s an amazing time of year and nature shows us that change is healthy. It’s time to prepare for shorter days, warmer clothes and heartier meals. I came across a quote by Shira Tamir “Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day”
There is a lot to be thankful for every day of the year and we find reminders all around when we take a moment to look, listen and reflect. This Thanksgiving we have been able to enjoy nature, sunshine, good food and lots of fun with family and friends. Truly blessed and very grateful!

If your plants and veggies in the garden are being attacked and eaten by squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, birds, etc., try some protective netting. I found some at the hardware store that is working well to keep the little nuisances away from my crops. I have wrapped it around my pots and secured with some little garden clips. Everything is growing again – yay!
Sunday is Funday – Get you healthy on with a great dose of vitamin D. Go for a walk, a cycle, a picnic, maybe even a swim. Another great option is a healthy water sport like kayaking, stand up paddling (SUP) or canoeing. Check out #HappyPaddling at #CentennialBeach #Barrie

Save your egg shells and crumble them up small then spread throughout your planters and gardens. Sprinkle cayenne pepper or crushed chilli peppers around the outer areas and another deterrent is to have some type of spinning wind catching decoration.
